I’m sure most of us ladies have a dress that we don’t wear, I have a few!
Sometimes I donate them. Other times I turn them into something else, because why say goodbye when you can say hello?
Here’s some tunes for your scroll 🎶

This old, striped gem, from Forever21, is now my purse. It matches my daughter’s, well, sort of! They are both upcycled fringe shoulder bags!

Check her’s out here 🙂
Start by cutting the bottom of your dress into strips

Tie the top and bottom strips together tightly

Check the inside to make sure there’s no holes, re-tie the strips tighter if there is
The bottom is done, for now

Cut the top down the center until just before you reach the drawstring

Cut those halves into thirds and braid each of them into straps

End with the longest strand in the middle and tie the ends into a bow

Knot the straps to hide any extra fabric and tie them together on each side to make two straps

Lastly, cut the bottom strips into thinner fringe and your upcycled bohemian bag is done!

I LOVE this! How clever of you to work it into the song and show us some cool DYI. It really is a cute boho bag! Great to see you back for Sunday Stills!

I am loving these upcycled bags from dresses so much! I am certain I have a dress or two that I could try this with, but I am getting confused at the part where you tie the top and bottom strips together tightly. How are they tied to keep it from having holes in the bottom that things can fall through? Oh, if I find a dress to upcycle into a cute boho bag, I might have to email you for some assistance! Thanks for sharing this cuteness and linking with me!

Thanks so much, me too! 🙂
It’s hard to explain, but it’ll make more sense when you are actually tying the strips 😄 Definitely feel free to email me if you decide to make one and get stuck. I added a video of my daughter tying hers to that post, that might help!
