Meditating on a Cliff

“Head in the clouds but my gravity’s centered” – The Neighbourhood

“I am grateful for all that I have.”

The flowers are Rocky Mountain Columbine, the state flower of Colorado.

Aquilegia Caerulea

In Latin, Aquilegia signifies “eagle”, Caerulea symbolizes “blue” and Columba means “dove.”

Doves represent peace and love, and these flowers do, too. They are linked to multiple Goddesses of love.

A few other things these flowers symbolize are strength, knowledge and perseverance.

Christians associated the columbine’s leaves with the Holy Trinity because each grows with three lobes.

In Celtic tradition, these plants were known to open portals to other dimensions or worlds.

Some types of Columbine are medicinal, a few benefits include helping to relieve pain, itching and swelling.
